As you know, PHP recently released PHP version 7.1. While many hosting providers have not taken any action yet, HawkHost has been very quick to integrate the latest PHP version in its cPanel.
In this article, I will guide you to upgrade to PHP 7.1 version
Note : Currently PHP 7.1 is only compatible with WordPress version 4.7. So you need to upgrade WordPress to the latest version 4.7 before upgrading to PHP 7.1
Instructions to upgrade PHP 7.1 for WordPress hosting
1. First you access cPanel, scroll down to the Software section. Click on Select PHP version
2. Select version 7.1 and click the Set as current button
3. Select the modules as below. Remember to click the Save button.
4. Click the Switch to PHP Options link in the upper right corner.
5. Apply the changes as below. Click the Save button to save the changes
6. Visit your website to double check if there is any problem with the operation.
At this point, you have successfully upgraded to PHP version 7.1
In fact, there are still not many hosting providers that support PHP 7.1 version in cPanel. Thus, once again, HawkHost proves to be a pioneer in applying new technology.
