Want to create a discount code in WordPress?
Normally this feature will be available if you use coupon WordPress theme.
But if you don’t use coupon theme WordPress theme, you have to install additional plugin to get this functionality.
On the page, I use the Shortcode Ultimate plugin to create a discount code button.
But this is only a temporary solution. Obviously this plugin is not for coupon code generation.
The plugin that generates the discount code doesn’t look good much.
The WP Coupons and Deals plugin made all the difference.
The discount code that this plugin generates looks very nice and professional.
In this article, I will show you how to insert a discount code using this plugin.
How to insert a beautiful discount code using WP Coupons and Deals
The WP Coupons and Deals plugin is a very lightweight plugin so you don’t have to worry about installing more.
About the function as the name suggests, it helps you create two types of coupons: coupon and deal. The only difference:
When clicking on the coupon a marketing link opens a new page and the discount code is copied to the clipboard. For deals, only the marketing link opens in a new tab, no discount codes are copied.
First you install and activate the plugin like other plugins. See how to install a WordPress plugin if you are new to WordPress.
Once installed, you will see a new menu called Coupons in the Sidebar. Go to Coupons -> Settings and translate the English text back into Vietnamese:

Next, go to Coupons -> Add new coupon to create a new coupon. You can create a category to manage coupons if you want.

The fields on the screen are quite clear so I don’t need to explain further. Click on the post button to finish generating the discount code.
Now you will insert the newly created discount code into the article. Go to the post where you want to insert the discount code.
You will see a new button called Add Coupon in the Post Editor screen.

Click on that button a popup will open. Here you choose the discount code you want to insert. Click the Insert Coupon Shortcode button.

Now go back to the front-end interface to check again. The coupon code interface will look like this:

Looks nice doesn’t it?
Note : If you don’t want to index these new Post types (coupons and deals), go to Yoast SEO’s configuration screen ( SEO -> Titles and Metas-> Post Types ) and turn it off. Thus, these post types will not be displayed in the Google search screen.
That is all.
