WordPress Dashboard Overview

Admin interface – WordPress Dashboard is the place for you to install, configure the interface, add or remove features (plugins), content, products, … all for your website. With experience using many Dashboards of many different CMS as well as self-coding websites, I find WordPress Dashboard is still the most user-friendly and most admin interface. The first is the home page of the Dashboard. It includes a series of functional menus on the left, on the right will be some overview information of the website, including setup menus, function menus, website statistics such as articles, products, etc. Latest activity on website…

Now I will introduce in detail the functional menus of Dashboard. Depending on the theme you use, the plugins installed, this list will have more menus. In addition, depending on the role (role) of the login account, such as Admin or Editor, the menus will be reduced to limit the use rights. However, basically, after installing WordPress, it will have the following functional menus:

Functional menus of WordPress Dashboard:

  • Updates: where to announce new updates including WordPress update packages, Themes, Plugins.
  • Posts: manage all posts. Here you can add and remove categories and articles. Articles are content posted for viewers to read, like the article you are viewing here.
  • Gallery: A place to manage images and videos on the website.
  • Pages: manage the pages of the website. Pages are where you post permanent information, as the backbone of your WordPress website. Such as: Home, About, Contact, Terms of Use, etc.
  • Feedback: the feedback, comments of viewers about the article.
  • Interface:  manage the interface of the website. Here you can install the new interface, manage and customize the interface you are using.
  • Plugins: manage and install plugins (features) for wordpress websites.
  • Members: manage, add, remove, edit members. Depending on the purpose of the website, you may allow members to self-register and edit information.
  • Tools: system management tools.
  • Settings: overview settings for the entire website.
