In this article, I will show you how to register and create a Vultr VPS. You will find the process of creating a Vultr VPS is very simple.

Step 1: Sign up for an account
First, go to Vutrl.com to create an account.
After verifying your email address, log in to Vultr’s control panel.
Up to the present time, credit promotion programs are no longer available.

Click on the V icon and you will see the link to receive the promotion. Click on it
Now you click all the buttons to get 3$ promotion:
Next you click on Billing to top up.
There are 2 deposit methods: PayPal and Credit Card. You should choose PayPal for quick payments.
Step 2: Create a new VPS or Linux server
Click on the big plus icon on the upper right edge or click on the Servers section to start deploying a new VPS.
There are 3 server models for you to choose from:
- Vultr Cloud Compute : a regular VPS server. Most of the time you will choose this style.
- Storage Instance : VPS for large storage needs
- Dedicated Instance : Dedicated server for huge websites that need large resources.
By default the VC2 form will be selected.
Next, you need to select Server Location.
With the Vietnamese website, you can choose one of two locations: Japan or Singapore.
Next, select the operating system – Server Type. By default CentOS 7 is selected. You can also switch to Ubuntu if you prefer to install EasyEngine later.
I personally recommend you to choose CentOS in combination with VPSSIM to have the most efficient server and website. In addition, VPSSIM has all the functions that a website needs.
Next choose Server Size – configure for the server
Vultr has a package of $ 2.5 but this package is only available in the US Location. With location in Asia, the cheapest package is 5$. If you need more, choose a higher package.
The $5 package is enough for the average website.
Note: You can use the snapshot feature to upgrade to a higher configuration. But downgrading is not possible.
Select additional features – Additional Features.
- Enable IPv6 : enable free IP 6 address should choose
- Enable Private Network : add an internal IP to connect to VPS with the same location. If needed, choose.
- Enable Auto Backups : Automatically backup cheap VPS should choose.
- Enable DDOS Protection : enabling anti-DDOS feature is quite expensive at $10/month and is only available in some locations. As shown in the picture below, I choose the location Singapore, but there is no.
Next you add the startup scripts. This is a feature of adding a program that you want to run when starting the VPS. Skip if you don’t need it.
Adding SSH Keys makes SSH connection to VPS more secure. You do after creating VPS.
Finally, enter the hostname and label. Click Deploy button to create VPS.
At this point, you have created VPS Vultr.
Step 3: Some tasks after creating VPS

Connect to VPS
To connect to VPS you need to get the IP address and root account password. Click on the Manage VPS link you just created
The next screen you will see the necessary information to connect the server. Use MobaXTerm to connect to VPS Vultr.
Secure SSH connection
You should connect SSH using SSH Keys like this tutorial . In the step of uploading the public key to the server, remember to always use the SSH Keys function in the Control Panel of Vultr . No need to do it manually as my instructions.
Create swap file
You should create more Swap File like this tutorial . Swap capacity is twice the amount of RAM.
