How to arrange WordPress pages by drag and drop - Learn Wordpress from a to z thumbnail

Do you want to reorganize your WordPress pages by dragging and dropping them?

WordPress will sort your blog posts and pages based on publication date or alphabetical order by default. However, with the right WordPress plugin, you can rearrange the order of your pages to arrange them more properly.

In this article, I will show you how to arrange and organize WordPress pages using drag and drop.

Why change the order of WordPress pages?

By default, WordPress will sort your pages alphabetically or use the publication date to display the recent page first. If you have a lot of sites, it can be difficult to manage them and find the pages you need in your WordPress dashboard.

However, you can use a simple plugin to rearrange the pages by dragging and dropping them where you want.

Organize your WordPress sites with a plugin

First, you will need to install and activate the  Simple Page Ordering plugin .

Once the plugin is activated, there is no need for any installation. You just need to go to WordPress Admin Panel -> Pages -> All Sites. Here you can start organizing your pages by dragging and dropping them.

You can now rearrange your WordPress pages and put them in any order you want.

How to sort WordPress pages manually

Another way you can reorganize your WordPress pages is to change the order in the page properties section.

To get started, just edit any page. Once you are in the WordPress block editor, navigate to the “Page Properties” section located in your right menu. You can then enter a “Sort” value for your page. The lower the number, the higher it will appear in the list.

The problem with this method is that you will have to manually change the “Sort” value on all the other pages you want to reorder. This can be time consuming and that is why using the Simple Page Ordering plugin is a better option for you.
