What is the default Gravatar?
Gravatar is a web service created by Automattic, the organization responsible for WordPress development and management. This service allows people to attach photos to their email addresses.
When they comment in WordPress sites, this image will be displayed.
If a user does not have an avatar image, WordPress will automatically display a default gravatar image. The default image is a mysterious man, like the one below:

To change the default Gravatar, go to Settings => Discussion and scroll down to the Avatar section
