2-Factor Security (2FA) in WordPress, what is 2-layer security?
2-layer security is security in addition to the password layer, the user must enter an automatically generated code on the mobile device to be able to log in. This security method is great because it makes your account a lot safer because anyone who wants to log into your account must have your mobile device. Currently, this method is widely applied such as Google, Facebook or banking websites.
Today I introduce to you miniOrange 2-Factor plugin:
This plugin allows you to enable 2-factor security on your WordPress website. You need a SmartPhone to be able to use this feature.
1: Installation: you go to Plugins => select Add new and then type the keyword “miniOrange 2-Factor”:
2: Usage:
After installing, go to Two-Factor in admin:
there will be such items you have to do
+ The first is to choose the app: Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, …
+ Then you scan a barcore code and enter the code and it will return the OTP code
It’s as simple as that
Once installed, log back in with the wordpress admin and then enter the 2FA code received from your phone.
